ORTHOTICS
Orthotics is more commonly known as "brace making" and an orthosis, a "brace".
The word "Orthosis" comes from the Greek word "ortho" which means "straight".
An Orthosis is a device that usually works to support the body and straighten the limb due to disease, congenital deformity, or trauma.
The science of orthotics descends from shoemakers and armorers who provided support to limbs affected by disease or were injured in battle.
